Hot Water Will Freeze Faster Than Cold Water - The Hot Water Is More Likely To Be Supercooled.

The hot water is more likely to be supercooled. This means that the hot water's temperature is more likely to cool to temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. In the cold non-supercooled water, ice crystals form and float to the top...

This is not true, we did an experiment for my sons science for his project, and used a thermometer at the same time using hot and cold water. Cold water freezes faster just because it starts out closer to freezing temp.

no you're wrong, hot water as it have said,...it is a supercooled liquid which means it will freeze faster, example an ice cream poured with a hot boiling chocolate syrup on top...notice that the liquid chocolate will instantly freeze without melting the ice cream....due to rapid cooldown of a heated chocolate....... IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN :)

hot water will freeze before cold water only under certain conditions. Obviously, if you put 33 degree water and 211 degree water into your freezer, the 33 degree water will freeze first.
